OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE
Offered on most weekends throughout the year, Outdoor Experience is designed for youth and adults of all ages to build character, explore nature, and create lifelong memories.
We offer a wide range of activities from pioneering to navigation to outdoor cooking. Learn how to fish, build a fire, try an orienteering course and throw a tomahawk. As the weather turns warmer, we will add more activity areas including ropes courses, shooting sports and waterfront activities such as kayaking and canoeing.
Advancement Opportunities
Scouts can work towards specific advancements and awards while non-Scouts can participate in fun outdoor activities and skills development. All activities are run by trained and certified staff. Many of the activities satisfy advancement requirements in both Cub and Scouts BSA programs, so it's a great opportunity for Scouts to work on a variety of advancement as they learn new and fun outdoor skills.
The Patrol Method
While Outdoor Experience is designed to allow participants to go at their own pace, we will assign specific groups at this time. Resolute Base Camp has put specific and strict protocol into place to ensure the safety and health of our participants, staff and communities.
Groups (or Patrols) stay together and spend about 30 minutes at each skill area where individuals can participate in activities of their choosing. At each interval, groups move in rotation while skill areas are sanitized for the next group. Rotations continue throughout the day, allowing patrols to participate in all skill areas.
